Momma's Day Out

Updated: Aug 15, 2021

After sitting at home dealing with a new baby girl during the pandemic, Lindsey was ready for deer season this year. Prior to this season her largest deer was a buck that scored right at 160 from a few years back. She was ready to join the 200 inch club this year so we set out to make it happen.

Muy Grande all-Round Winner

As season began to grow closer we started sitting in blinds to see what was showing up to feeders. Late one evening out step a beautiful dark horn wide buck. Immediately I scramble around to move my camera out the east window to grab some footage of this guy. He came into about 125 yards and gave me a great view. Dark horned, wide, multiple stickers, mulley forks and great beams added to a deer I knew was over 220. Weeks later Lindsey began her hunt for this giant. After a couple sits with no sign of him we decided to let the area rest.

The following weekend came and conditions were not right but you can’t kill them sitting at home. With 20 mph winds, dry heat and low expectations Lindsey climbed into the blind at 4:30. Within the hour of the hunt despite the wind and heat out step her buck of a life time. Settling in Lindsey made a great shot on him rolling him in the middle of the caliche road. After putting our hands on him we then knew he was closer to 230 inches and would be a contender for the Muy Grande Deer contest.

The next day Lindsey took her buck to Muy Grande and had him scored. After tallying him up the total came to 234 2/8 putting her in the lead for the coveted title of Muy Grande All Round. Although there were still many weeks left in the season Lindsey held the lead and finished the season with the title. Congrats again Lindsey on your win and trophy of a lifetime.
